Toyama City is the capital of the homonymous prefecture, Japan. It is located on the coast of the Sea of Japan, 200 km north of Nagoya city and 300 km northwest of Tokyo. It has an area of 1,241.85 km² and a population of 420,804 inhabitants. In Toyama Prefecture, there is a wall of snow more than 500 meters long and almost 20 meters high, almost 8 floors, and it is one of the regions that receive the most snow in the world. It is formed when they perform the cleaning of the road for the alpine route. The route is open from April to mid-June; it is an area of about 500 meters that starts from Murodō station, in which visitors are allowed to observe these huge white walls up close. Many tourists are attracted by this landscape and other attractions such as giant igloos and a large snow maze. When spring comes to an end, there is still plenty of snow on the nearby peaks as temperatures do not rise above 10ºC during this season.
